JOB SUMMARY:
To lead quality system improvement projects that span across multiple programs. To ensure consistent quality practices are used on all programs. To develop quality systems that will ensure our product performance to meet our customers’ quality requirements. Sr. Quality Engineers also are responsible to advise Quality Engineers for designing, implementing and controlling quality systems for products, processes, and materials.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead quality systems standardization to ensure that the same best practice quality control methods are used on all products.
- To ensure overall new product qualification/new production unit qualification meet company strategy and customer requirement within target.
- Review containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions of quality incidents for effectiveness to insure that customer issues to not continue to resurface.
- Design and implement new and improved quality systems for existing products and processes through leading teams and individual projects to improve the quality performance of our current technology.
- Design and implement quality control systems for new product platforms or new processes in order to have high quality levels at the startup of new technology.
- Develop quality improvements plans with objectives, benchmarks, critical reviews, deliverables, completion criteria and timelines in order meet the project objectives.
- Lead and give direction to Quality Technicians, Quality Engineers, and/or Quality Auditors to make sure that quality objectives and KPI are met and consistent best practices are used.
- Mentor inexperienced quality engineers and quality technicians to insure that proper methods and principles are used.
- Work with volume manufacturing sites to standardize quality systems between the sites and the development center.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education Required: Bachelor's degree in any field (Science or Engineering)
Skill Required:
- Six Sigma, Minitab, SPC and 8D experience.
- Demonstrated applications knowledge of statistics and process evaluation tools such as sampling plan, SPC, DOE, Cp, Cpk, etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills using good quality engineering practices like: Pareto, cause and effect, FMEA or similar.
- Demonstrated knowledge of measurement systems analysis techniques such as GR & R, Uncertainty, Repeatability, etc.
- Demonstrated experience in developing qualification or validation systems that include statistical verification of results and closed loop corrective action of problems.
- Good command of spoken and written in English.
