MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and manage demurrage claims for both import and export shipments.

Ensure claims are processed, validated, and submitted within established deadlines.
Handle disputes and negotiations with shipping companies, suppliers, and customers regarding demurrage charges.
Maintain and update records of demurrage claims, contracts, and supporting documents.
Prepare and provide detailed reports on demurrage costs, settlements, and trends.
Track outstanding claims and ensure proper follow-up for resolution.
Ensure all records comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Analyze demurrage trends and provide feedback for operational improvement.
Communicate with internal teams (operations, finance, logistics) and external parties (carriers, port authorities, agents) to resolve issues related to demurrage.
Advise on ways to minimize demurrage costs through proactive communication and planning.
Educate internal teams on best practices to avoid unnecessary delays that lead to demurrage charges.
Negotiate demurrage terms and conditions with shipping lines and terminal operators.
Resolve disputes and disagreements related to demurrage costs and detention charges.
Provide expert analysis and advice to mitigate the risk of demurrage claims.
Identify opportunities to minimize or avoid demurrage charges.
Work with logistics and operations teams to develop strategies to reduce cargo dwell times.
