Job Summary :
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Manager to oversee the daily operations of our laboratory. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety and cleanliness, manage the lab’s booking system, assist students with equipment, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure the laboratory adheres to all safety regulations and protocols.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain up-to-date safety records.
2. Lab Maintenance:
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.
• Monitor and manage lab inventory, ensuring all supplies are stocked and equipment is properly maintained.
3. Equipment Management:
• Oversee the usage and maintenance of lab equipment.
• Learn to operate laboratory equipment and train students on their proper usage.
4. Booking System Management:
• Manage the laboratory’s booking system to ensure fair and efficient access to resources.
5. Student Support:
• Provide guidance to students on equipment usage.
• Be a point of contact for students who need assistance in the lab.
6. Procurement and Vendor Management:
• Handle the purchasing of laboratory supplies and equipment, liaising with suppliers and vendors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety standards and practices.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods.
- Previous experience in a lab environment is a plus.
