1. Promotes, protects, maintains and attains optimal care for the physical and mental
health of the students
2. Provides first aid for injuries and acute illness
3. Initiates prompt referral to the appropriate medical facility when more extensive
treatment is warranted
4. Performs crisis intervention if necessary
5. Administers medicine as requested by parents or as directed by physicians
6. Provide health counseling for students and staffs
7. Participate in establishing or revising school health policies
8. Maintain a daily medical log and report on incidents and accidents as per school policy
9. Establish and maintain individual health records
10. Maintains stock of medicines and first aid equipment and regular stock checks
11. Inputs and maintains medical records of students and provides reports for student trips
and other purposes as required
12. Arranges first aid equipment for students and teachers for field trips
13. Clean bed, mattress and bed sheets once a week or when necessary.
14. Prepare glasses, medical equipment and medical supplies every evening.
15. Sterile medical equipments monthly or when necessary
16. Coordinate with parents when the student needs to get any first aid medications.
17. Coordinate with homeroom teachers and parents when referral is needed.
18. Separate the student when contagious disease occurred and coordinate with a health
promoting hospital to prevent the spreading of disease.
19. Screening for infectious disease e.g. HFMD at kindergarten building every morning.
20. Follow up the student via telephone when the student has contagious disease and stays
at home or is hospitalized.
21. Input medical event data into Renweb every evening.
22. Screen medical form about student’s allergies then record in Renweb and remind
homeroom teacher about those allergies.
23. Coordinate with teachers and the hospital for annual health check-up.
24. Coordinate and prepare documents for the accident insurance claim process.
Working Hours In Normal school, School nurse work hours are from 7.30AM to 4.30PM, however
school nurses may be assigned to duties or required to attend meetings from 7.00AM to 5.00PM
from time to time and once to twice Saturday per year (Open House, Charity Run, etc.)
Working Day A weekday when the school is in session and students have a normal schedule,
exam, etc.
