BASIC FUNCTIONS REQUIRED:
The Financial Assistant of the Budget and Fiscal (B&F) office of the Management Section of the U.S. Consulate General in Chiang Mai, Thailand, provides high quality financial services to customers. The position is the primary liaison with the Financial Management Center (FMC) at embassy Bangkok, the principal advisor to the Management Officer on Budget and Fiscal issues, and institutional memory on all financial matters for the consulate. The incumbent tracks budget plans and deadlines across various government funding streams; monitors status of funds reports; and responds to periodic data calls from FMC and Financial Management Officer (FMO). The incumbent applies data management analysis techniques to maximize advantage on limited resources. Prepares and control utilities, education allowance and reimbursement payments.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
(1) EDUCATION: Completion of two years of college or university studies is required.
(2) EXPERIENCE: At least two years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, accounting, payroll, accounts receivable/payable, cashiering, or auditing is required. (Please provide full information in the Main Duties and Responsibilities box. Resume and CV are not acceptable).
(3) LANGUAGE: Please clarify level of your THAI and ENGLISH language skill. (This may be tested)
• Good working knowledge of English language (Reading/Writing/Speaking) is required. You are required to pass the English Placement test (EPT) that is conducted by the Regional Human Resources Office, or submit a copy of valid TOEIC score of at least 600 with your application before the interview.
• Fluent of Thai language (Reading/Writing/Speaking) is required.
(4) SKILLS AND ABILITIES: (This may be tested)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) to create documents and spreadsheets, and maintain and update databases.
• Regular demand for keyboard with good working speed and accuracy.
(5) Job Knowledge: (This may be tested)
• Must have working knowledge of budgeting, accounting, and financial management.
