Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
Handle monthly accounting functions for several accounts, typically straightforward and
somewhat routine accounting processes.
• Review of daily or monthly reports/journal entries
• Post monthly recurring entries
• Review Monthly reconciliation of asset & liability accounts
Systems and Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve financial systems, processes, and procedures to enhance
efficiency and effectiveness
- Collaborate with IT and system development teams to identify and document the accounting
requirements
- Establish processes and controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data within
the new system, including validation checks and data reconciliation procedures.
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Participate in system testing phases, including user acceptance
testing (UAT), to verify that the accounting functionalities perform as expected and identify
any issues or discrepancies.
- Financial reporting: prepare and present accurate reports to senior management,
stakeholders, and regulatory authorities
- Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all financial activities comply with relevant
laws, regulations, and standards
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the insurance accounting team, fostering a
culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Support other corporate transactions.
