The Director of Digital Platform Development is responsible for leading the strategic planning, development, and continuous improvement of digital platforms. This role involves overseeing the end-to-end development process, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring that the digital platforms align with the company’s business goals and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Vision:
- Develop and implement a long-term strategy for the digital platform development in alignment with the company’s business objectives.
- Define the vision and direction of digital platforms, ensuring they meet market trends and user demands.
Platform Development and Enhancement:
- Lead the design, development, testing, and launch of digital platforms.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers, software engineers, and product developers to create user-friendly and efficient platforms.
- Continuously monitor and improve platform performance based on user feedback and key business metrics.
Project and Resource Management:
- Manage the end-to-end digital platform projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.
- Allocate resources, including personnel, budget, and time, to ensure the successful completion of projects within the stipulated timelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Communicate and collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure the platform meets user and market needs.
- Present project updates and performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Track and analyze platform performance using data and user insights.
- Implement new features and enhancements to keep the platform competitive and aligned with changing market demands.
- Explore and integrate emerging technologies that can enhance platform capabilities.
Risk Management and Security:
- Identify and manage risks associated with platform development and operations.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in digital platform development and management.
- Proven experience in leading software development teams and managing large-scale projects.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of digital platform technologies, including cloud computing, APIs, DevOps, and application development.
- Understanding of software architecture and scalable system design.
Leadership and Communication Skills:
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead diverse technical teams.
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts and strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strategic Thinking:
- Ability to think strategically and plan for the long-term development and expansion of digital platforms.
- Adaptability to new technologies and market trends.
Preferred Skills (if any):
- Knowledge of Big Data management, AI/ML technologies, and their application in digital platforms.
- Experience in industries such as e-commerce, fintech, or SaaS is highly desirable.
