Process Engineer / Senior

Lumentum is seeking Senior Manufacturing Process Sustaining. This position will be responsible for driving variant development of complex optical modules from end-to-end. The role will combine technical and project management skills to integrate new designs, support manufacturing readiness and process sustaining improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in NPI process, including process designs and product design reviews
• Troubleshoot product and yield issues. Coordinate with the multidisciplinary team in multiple locations to derive the most effective solutions to production, yield, cost, and quality issues
• Process flow optimization, DFM, PFMEA, SPC and work instruction development and process control.
• Support production to achieve quality and delivery.
• Preparation and communication of scientific and technical presentations, updates, and reports with internal and external team.
• Support for business development and engineering teams as needed
• Provide leadership, technical coaching and mentoring which engages the core team.

• Bachelor or higher in Engineering or Science field
• Experience with operation machine such as Lid seal, tube seal and leak tester assembly.
• Strong organizational skill and the ability to work under pressure and deal with conflicting priorities.
• An excellent communicator, both verbally and writing in English
• Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships internally with cross functional teams in a matrix organization in local and international
• Data analysis skills – familiarity with databases, statistical analysis, and process control
• Knowledge of assembly, test, equipment capabilities, reliability and/or fundamental of Optical material properties for both thermal and mechanical such as joint stress in epoxy, material failure and deformation are preferred.
• Experience in telecommunication product such as fiber optic line card, module and/or component would be considered an asset.
• Scientific methods and mindset and have excellent leadership abilities
• Able to troubleshoot issues and determine the cause of a plan’s success or failure
