Supplier Development Engineer (Metal Casting)

The successful candidate will focus on the metal casting category, primarily addressing technical aspects to identify and develop new suppliers. This role supports engineering design for manufacturability and aims to optimize supplier performance while ensuring alignment with company goals.
Key Responsibility:
- Provide technical support for new and existing projects, ensuring manufacturability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to source and qualify metal casting components for Bernina Thailand and Bernina International AG.
- Work closely with project teams and suppliers to resolve technical challenges throughout the product lifecycle, including post-SOP (Start of Production).
- Conduct technical analyses and optimize processes with suppliers to improve quality and efficiency.
- Assess supplier risks and develop performance improvement plans for long-term sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with procurement procedures and category strategies in all decision-making processes.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned by superior.
- Thai nationality aged 30-40 years.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in metal casting manufacturing (e.g., high pressure, lost wax).
- Expertise in developing and optimizing casting processes.
- Proficiency in associated processes including machining, tumbling, trimming, blasting, heat treatment, metal melting, and handling.
- Skill in designing, constructing, and maintaining casting tools.
- Familiarity with casting simulation analysis.
- Advanced skills in communication, leadership, and project management.
- Collaborate effectively with diverse teams and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in MS Office and Team Center.
- Professional proficiency in English communication.
- Certified in ISO9001, IATF16949, APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, GD&T.
Location: Samutprakarn with willingness to travel 30%-50%.
