Job Overview:
The IQC Manager for New Plant Setup will be responsible for establishing and managing the incoming quality control processes in a newly established manufacturing plant. This role involves setting up the IQC department, implementing quality control procedures, and ensuring that all incoming materials and components meet the required quality standards. The IQC Manager will collaborate with various teams to ensure the plant’s quality systems are effective, compliant with industry regulations, and aligned with company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- IQC Department Setup: Lead the setup of the Incoming Quality Control (IQC) department, including defining roles, responsibilities, workflows, and establishing quality control procedures for incoming materials.
- Quality Control Systems Implementation: Develop and implement IQC protocols, including inspection and testing procedures, ensuring the new plant adheres to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Work closely with suppliers to communicate quality requirements, ensuring they understand and meet the company’s quality standards for incoming goods.
- Process Development: Design and establish processes for receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming materials and components to ensure they meet quality expectations.
- Team Leadership and Training: Recruit, train, and mentor the IQC team to ensure high standards of performance. Provide ongoing guidance on quality control methods, safety procedures, and best practices.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in the incoming quality control process and implement strategies to optimize quality assurance efforts. Regularly review KPIs to monitor performance and address any issues.
- Compliance and Audits: Ensure compliance with industry standards and certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, regulatory requirements). Conduct periodic internal audits to assess the effectiveness of the IQC system.
- Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with procurement, production, and R&D teams to ensure that quality expectations are met throughout the production process.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze data from quality checks, inspections, and audits, preparing reports on quality performance and presenting findings to senior management. Provide solutions for recurring quality issues.
- Documentation Management: Develop and maintain documentation for all incoming material inspections, quality records, and test results to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality control, preferably in manufacturing or similar industries.
- Proven experience in setting up and managing IQC processes in a new plant or facility.
- Strong knowledge of quality control systems, methodologies, and industry standards.
- Experience in supplier quality management and audits.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Ability to lead and manage a team in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in English
