Key Responsibilities:
The Receptionist reports directly to the SHR Business Services Manager, and as part of a team is responsible for the effective operation of the front of house operations. In particular, the Receptionist will
● respond to school security pass / ID badge requests, through reviewing requests and issuing / updating / withdrawing access passes in line with the school security policy, whilst monitoring and ensuring adequate stock levels of passes and ancillary items are available;
● as part of the team, assist with ensuring the effectiveness of the school security system, including supporting the annual review cycle, liaising with the relevant teams / suppliers for physical fixes and support improvement initiatives;
- respond effectively and politely to enquiries and concerns from parents, students, visitors and others;
- answer incoming telephone calls to the school and route them efficiently and accurately into the correct areas. Contact telephone suppliers or school maintenance to ensure the school telephone system is working effectively;
- record delivery school post mail effectively;
- actively assist with the daily student registration process and the emergency evacuation protocol;
- deal with routine or ad-hoc administrative tasks as assigned by the Director of Business Services or Reception Supervisor;
- undertake work as part of school shop and the administrative support team;
- work as part of the “meet and greet” function for visitors and prospective parents;
- ensure a neat and presentable reception environment;
- actively encourage and participate in delivering an excellent customer experience at all times;
- deal with other ad-hoc duties as and when required.
Professional Expectations:
The Receptionist should have the following qualities
- possess at least bachelor degree;
- be positive, engaging and friendly in manner to all visitors to the school;
- present a detailed knowledge of school working practices to all visitors and callers;
- be professional, neat and presentable in their personal appearance;
- be efficient and accurate in dealing with all enquiries;
- have an excellent telephone manner;
- have an excellent spoken command of English and Thai and thoroughly competent written skills in both languages;
- adhere at all times to the spoken English policy within the school;
- be flexible in their approach to work and enjoy working as part of a team and closely with the Line Manager;
- be able to prioritise workloads and be able to work effectively in a busy environment;
- strict adherence to time keeping and operational hours;
- be aware of student safety in the school premises.
