Senior Performance Technician
โรงเรียนนานาชาติโชรส์เบอรี กรุงเทพ- Lead the technical team, comprising the Music Technician, Memorial Hall Technicians, and Events Technician providing direction, support, delegation of duties and performance management as appropriate
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the technical team, ensuring effective technical support for events as appropriate
- Oversee the management of the school’s large performance spaces: Memorial Hall, Performance Space and Recital Hall
- Develop and implement training programmes for the technical team to ensure necessary competency and professional development.
- Liaise with organisers and determine the appropriate requirements for all requested Music and Drama activities, rehearsals, events, and performances
- Provide a high level of technical support to all members of staff, students, and external users involved in Music and Drama activities, including assistance in curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities, trips, visits, and events run by external parties.
- Prepare and operate all audio, visual, and other equipment and components for shows, concerts, events, and functions, including creating and helping arrange props and models for productions, lighting and special effects design, and ensuring the smooth running of the visual and audio programme during performances.
- Oversee the proper management, storage and maintenance of all Music and Drama inventory, ensuring that all instruments and technical resources are kept ready for use and in good condition.
- For all Music and Drama activities and performances (both internal and external) be responsible for;
- Setting up of equipment and providing resources (such as chairs, stands and staging)
- Providing technical support and stage-management
- Work closely with the Logistics and Planning Officer where additional assistance for performance set-up and storage is required.
- Meet regularly with the Director of Music to plan the maintenance of instruments and equipment, ensuring they are ready for lessons and extra-curricular activities.
- Provide technical support throughout the day, particularly during GCSE and A-Level Music and Drama Technology lessons, and assist with individual coursework recording tasks after school as arranged with individual students.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the Music and Drama rooms, and liaise with the Director of Music and Head of Drama and the school’s maintenance team regarding any concerns.
- Liaise with the Director of Business and Services to ensure that the work and support provided by the technical team complies with the school’s health and safety policy at all times.
- Speak and write English to a good standard
- Possess a degree or equivalent qualification
- Sound knowledge of Music and Drama Technology and its application, including the use of Logic Pro, GarageBand, Sibelius, and lighting/sound systems.
- Possess common software and hardware troubleshooting skills, although training could be supplied
- Knowledge of recording equipment, microphones and recording techniques
- Ability to set up and operate live sound systems and lighting systems
- Possess expertise and experience in AV technology, operation, and event staging
- Ability to work independently and as a team leader, with experience in managing a team of technicians
- Previous experience leading/working on large-scale Music and Drama productions
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills and have an enthusiasm for the role
- Proactive, adaptable, and with a “can-do” attitude
- Possess excellent organisational and communication skills and a professional manner
- Willingness to work flexible hours, after-school hours, and at weekends as appropriate.
