Korat Drive System Engineering – Contain of 5 job functions (Read/Write (R/W), Head Media Electrical (HME), Drive Servo (SVO), Drive Mechanical (MECH) and Head Disk Integration Group (HDIG). The overall assignment is a Hard Disc Drive (HDD) technical support team that works closely with product engineer, design center and reliability team to solve HDD problems, improving product quality, yield and test-time in the related field of each function.
About the role - you will:
- Collaborate with Product Engineers, Design Center Engineers and Reliability Team to solve Hard Disc Drive (HDD)problems, improving product quality, yield and test-time in related field of each function
- Assist and/or initiate any drive’s test process, generate process improvements ideas and actively participate in design concepts
- Provide direct on-site support to manufacturing operations, product engineers, reliability team, and design centers
- Perform data analysis, mechanical and electrical failure analysis (MFA, EFA) by using Seagate’s HDD tools, technical specialists as required (e.g., for FEA analysis, specialist calculations, solid works CAD), MATLAB and computer programing (SQL, C and Python) in order to find the root-cause, understand the problems and/or new design such as changes in mechanical and electrical component.
- Monitor the product performance, yield and quality focusing on the related field of each function
- Review and work of other Mechanical Design Engineers and part component drawings, dimension, material properties and component process flow with drives component and SQE
- Support the Lead Mechanical Engineers and Management with other tasks and activities as required
- Be a technical consultant to Product Engineers and Reliability Team

- Capable of communicating in complex technical material with groups outside of engineering and any support functions
- Excellent interpersonal, planning, organization and team skills, mentoring, training and presentation skills
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks/projects, manage conflicting deadlines and work effectively in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work across multiple teams and collaborate effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Good Engineering verification and evaluation skills
- Fluent in English communication both spoken and written
- FEA analysis, ANSYS programs, solid works CAD
- Ability to simulate material tolerance/dimension / material properties
- Microsoft Office, JMP, MATLAB, computer programing (C, Python and SQL)
- UML diagram knowledge
- Knowledge of data analysis
- Basic knowledge of electrical
