Electrical Failure Analysis Engineer (Based in Korat)

The Electrical FA (Failure Analysis) team is engaged in the design and development of test, debug and data analysis tools supporting all Seagate Hard Disc Drives Products (HDD). In addition to the drive test tools, the team also supports applications used companywide in support of "Big Data" analytics. This position is focused in the area of electrical failure analysis, but opportunities exist to explore our other areas.

• Apply advanced knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles and methodologies to integrate new technologies in the disk drive hardware, drive firmware and the factory test process to ensure successful execution in all phases of product development

• Perform bench level tests and data analysis to understand and resolve disk drive failures

• Frequent interaction with design engineering functions, controller firmware, test process engineering, product teams and the volume manufacturing sites

• Assist with technology integration spanning engineering model through volume launch

• Be responsible to contact and discuss with the counterpart when a product has the problem

• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service

• Enthusiastic to learn something new and fast learning

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Good in English communication both spoken and written

• Master or PhD in any field (background in engineer or science is referable)

• Basic knowledge for Hard Disk Drives

• Programming skill on Python, Matlab, and Visual C is preferable

• Knowledge of analog and digital circuitry

• Excellent problem-solving skills and working in a team environment

• Understanding and debug all disk drive sub-systems including servo, mechanical, read / write, electronics, controller firmware and factory test process

• Good Engineering knowledge and data analytical skills
