Position: Marketing Officer
Key Responsibilities:
The Marketing Officer reports directly to the Marketing & Communications Manager and works closely with the School Principal and the Management Team. The Marketing officer is responsible for the following key areas:
Chinese Language Copywriting & Cultural Expertise
- Write copy in Mandarin language and contextualise in an appropriate Chinese cultural setting for a variety of marketing materials, including brochures, websites, social media posts, and promotional emails
- Translate and adapt English-language marketing materials content appropriately for Chinese-speaking audiences
- Ensure all material produced is consistent with the school’s brand messaging, style guide and cultural sensitivities
- Collaborate closely with the design teams to produce high-quality creative content
- Ensure that promotional materials attract and resonates with Chinese-speaking audiences
- Provide Mandarin translation for marketing materials, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and relevance
- Offer appropriate guidance on Chinese cultural matters relevant to marketing effort
Events
- Support the planning, execution of Admissions and Marketing events for prospective families, coordinating with suppliers, venue staff, and guests to ensure smooth delivery
Digital Marketing & Marketing Operations
- Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing campaigns to increase brand visibility and engagement across various platforms
- Track and report on digital campaigns’ effectiveness, advising on adapting campaigns as necessary
Administrative Support & Additional Marketing Initiatives
- Assist in providing general administrative support to the marketing team, including processing purchase requisitions and managing internal processes
- Carry out other ad-hoc marketing duties as assigned by the Marketing and Communications Manager
Skills Criteria
The candidate should demonstrate the following skills and experience as relevant to this role:
Essential:
● Proficient in Mandarin and English language, both written and spoken
● Experience of working in a professional marketing environment
● Practical knowledge of digital platforms, social media and analytics tools, including campaign execution
● Excellent planning and time management skills, with ability to prioritise urgent tasks and meet agreed deadlines.
● Sound knowledge of marketing techniques and principles
● Experienced in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, including Google Drive, Google Forms and Google Analytics
● Excellent communication and presentation skills
Desirable:
● Photography, videography and video editing skills;
● Experience of working in a school environment and demonstrating understanding of inter-departmental working;
● Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
